Job Description


As a Security Guard - Residential Unarmed Patrol in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential and more .

As a member of the Allied Universal team, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a residential community. In this unarmed patrol position, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols throughout the location, remaining visible to help to deter potential security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is a driving post, and you will be required to operate a vehicle as part of your patrol duties. You will also interact with residents and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to address their needs. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations at the residential location in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential property and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the residential community to help to deter potential security-related incidents.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, visitors, and staff to address concerns and provide assistance as needed.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of experience in armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military roles.
  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located and meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements. Driving experience is preferred for posts that are primarily driving.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
