Job Description:

As a Security Officer – Armed Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more .

As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a government location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the assigned area, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This role requires you to carry a firearm as part of your daily duties. You will interact with employees, visitors, and the public, providing excellent customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. Pay Rate: $17.53 / Hour

Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the premises and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure environment.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and other critical areas to help to deter potential threats or suspicious activity at the location.
• Document and report incidents, observations, and maintenance needs according to company and client protocols.
• Work collaboratively with local law enforcement and emergency personnel as required.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter unwanted behavior and provide reassurance to staff and visitors.
• Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies related to armed security-related operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• An Armed Guard Card or License is preferred.
• Handcuffing Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
