As a Security Officer - Utility Company in Spring Valley, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal at a utilities location, you will be the first point of contact for visitors, employees, and contractors. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will utilize your customer service skills to assist guests and respond to inquiries, all while maintaining a professional and approachable demeanor. This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable using computers or tablets and enjoy interacting with people in a dynamic environment. Pay Rate: $16.00 - $17.00 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
  • Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials of individuals entering the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, visitor logs, and incident reports as required.
  • Communicate professionally with staff, visitors, and/or contractors to address inquiries and provide assistance.
  • Support emergency response activities as appropriate, including alerting appropriate personnel and following emergency procedures.
  • Assist in helping to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity through attentive observation and reporting.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
