As a Security Officer - Shelter Patrol Specialist in South Ozone Park, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment within a shelter location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and providing outstanding customer service to all individuals on site. You will be a reassuring presence, ready to respond to situations as they arise and to communicate clearly with residents, staff, and visitors. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and residents by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification as required by site policies.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and/or observations.
• Support Allied Universal and site management in upholding a welcoming and orderly environment for all residents, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
