Job Description


As a Security Officer - Chemical Access Control in Sulphur, LA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment at a chemical and petrochemical location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols to help to deter security-related incidents. You will interact with employees, visitors, and contractors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding site protocols. This position requires you to be comfortable using technology such as computers or tablets to document activities and manage access. The post may involve working in limited on-site facilities, such as rustic guard shacks. As this is a driving post, a valid driver's license in the job state is required. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry and exit.
  • Assist in implementing site-specific security-related procedures and protocols, adapting to the unique needs of a chemical and petrochemical environment.
  • Provide customer service by addressing inquiries and assisting visitors, contractors, and employees in a professional manner.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Document and report any security-related incidents, observations, or irregularities according to Allied Universal and client protocols.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and local authorities as needed to support security-related operations and emergency response.
  • Maintain awareness of site-specific hazards and follow all required procedures for working in a chemical and petrochemical location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Willingness to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 plus years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
