As a Security Professional - Armed Healthcare in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare and more .

As a Screener in a healthcare location, you will play a vital role in helping to maintain a secure and welcoming environment for all visitors, patients, and staff. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entrances, conducting screening procedures, and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. This is an armed post, requiring you to carry out your duties with professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility. You will interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the values of Allied Universal. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and screen individuals entering the healthcare location, following site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting visitors, patients, and staff with inquiries and directions as needed.
  • Monitor entry points to help to deter unauthorized access and/or prohibited items from entering the premises.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Document and report any unusual activity or incidents to the appropriate personnel and/or Allied Universal management.
  • Support emergency response activities as directed by site leadership and Allied Universal protocols.
  • Maintain a professional presence while carrying out security-related procedures specific to the healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a valid Armed Guard Card or License as required by state and/or local regulations.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
