Job Description

We are looking for Site Safety Managers with experience!

 

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Manager to oversee safety operations at a high-security chemical/petroleum refinery.

The Safety Manager will work closely with site security leadership to ensure all safety protocols are followed and regulatory compliance is always maintained.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enforce OSHA, EPA and site-specific standards
  • Conduct safety inspections, audits and incident reports/findings
  • Lead safety training for security personnel
  • Develop and maintain job hazard analysis and safety data sheets
  • Collaborate with site management and emergency response teams
  • Ensure personnel maintain TWIC complioance and PPE usage

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 25 years of age or older
  • Louisiana Drivers license (no flags or suspensions)
  • TWIC card -active
  • 3 years of safety management in plant/refinery environment
    • Safety certifications: OSHA 30, HAZPOWER, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and refinery safety standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

LOCATION: BATON ROUGE PETROLEUM PLANT

PAY: $24.00/HR / PAYS WEEKLY

SCHEDULE: Full-time, may include  nights, weekends and on-call responsibilities

 

Allied Universal® is hiring a Safety Manager. The Safety Manager is responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of safety policies, procedures, and best practices. The Safety Manager will work with security management to ensure best safety practices are being implemented. The Safety Manager will also respond to emergency incidents to assist with coordination between the security and emergency response teams, complete incident reports, and support root cause analysis efforts to prevent future safety issues.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage and interface frequently with Site Manager, Customers, Branch, and National Account Manager to monitor activities which may impact the safety of their team
  • Ensure the team’s contractual compliance using the appropriate systems and processes
  • Attend regularly scheduled and ad-hoc telecoms and / or meetings with customers, branch, national accounts
  • Work with the Site Manager to perform monthly Safety/Training meetings for the officers
  • Establish, maintain, and achieve agreed upon Key Performance Indicators for each client, regarding the Safety Program
  • Personally respond to safety incidents as they occur to perform investigations and case management strategies as needed; log, measure, and track overall safety performance and implement needed changes to improve service when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • Valid driver’s license, if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, each of the following:
    • Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
    • Firearms certification
    • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience showing aptitude for assisting in the operational management of a large semi-independent business enterprise
  • Work history to include each of the following:
  • Supervising emergency preparedness and response procedures
  • Implementing corporate security directives, building community partnerships with local law enforcement and emergency response agencies, implementing security programs, managing security personnel, conducting risk assessments, enforcing physical security measures and practices to ensure the client directives are carried out on an ongoing basis
  • Leading a diverse team of security personnel
  • Proven ability to make decisions without management present based upon security operational guidelines
  • Minimum of five (5) years of security industry experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/management experience
  • Advanced relationship building skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; write informatively, clearly, and accurately
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Problem solving and active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively; synthesize facts, concepts, principles and identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail; able to compile, sort, and interpret data
  • Demonstrated ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
  • Able to manage multiple projects
  • Aptitude with computer systems; CCTV, Access Control, and badge administration
  • Strong administrative and leadership abilities
  • Strategic orientation and team leadership skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • College degree in Business Administration or a law enforcement-related field
  • American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) International Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
  • Law enforcement experience (military police or civilian law enforcement)
  • Military experience
  • Graduate of certified public safety academy (e.g., Law Enforcement, Firefighter/Paramedic, Corrections Officer)
