As a Armed Security Officer - Armed Medical Shelter Patrol in San Antonio, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter and more .

As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to maintain a secure environment at a shelter location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and responding promptly to any situations that arise. This is an armed and driving post, requiring you to be prepared and qualified to carry a firearm and operate a vehicle as part of your daily duties. You will interact with staff, residents, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and sensitive areas to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious behavior.
• Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential threats and provide reassurance to occupants of the location.
• Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services as needed during incidents.
• Perform security-related checks of doors, windows, and other access points to help to deter breaches.
• Assist with access control procedures, verifying identification and/or credentials as required by site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience. 
• An armed guard card or license is required.
• Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton certifications are preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license is required and must meet Allied Universal driver policy requirements for driving positions only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
