As a Security Officer - Desk Patrols in Carteret, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries.

As a Front Desk Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and employees at a dynamic location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will play a key role in maintaining a professional environment by delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication. Pay Rate: $21.63 / Hour

What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
  • Monitor access to the location, verifying identification and credentials as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and visitor logs.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, visitors, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.
  • Assist with emergency response activities as appropriate for the location.
  • Support a welcoming environment while helping to deter unauthorized access and/or activities.

  • Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
