As a Security Professional - Biotechnology Site in Redwood City, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries.

As a Front Desk Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will be the first point of contact for visitors and employees at a dynamic location. Your primary responsibilities will include monitoring access, verifying credentials, and providing a welcoming presence while helping to deter security-related incidents. You will utilize your customer service skills to assist guests and respond to inquiries, while also remaining alert to any unusual activity. This role requires comfort with using computers or tablets to document incidents and manage visitor logs. What You’ll Do:

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at the front desk location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence at the front desk.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify identification, and assist with visitor management to help to deter unauthorized entry.
  • Communicate and collaborate with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to address security-related concerns and/or requests.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of daily activities, incidents, and/or unusual occurrences as required by site-specific policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Experience providing customer service is preferred.
  • Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
