As a Security Professional - Access Control - Swing Shift in Grand Rapids, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more .

As an Access Control Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in maintaining a secure environment within a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location. Your responsibilities will include monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, and conducting routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. You will remain highly visible throughout your shift, providing a reassuring presence and delivering exceptional customer service to all visitors and staff. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and control access to the premises, verifying credentials and granting entry to authorized personnel, visitors, and vehicles as required.
• Provide customer service by assisting employees, visitors, and contractors with access-related inquiries and site-specific procedures.
• Carry out security-related procedures and follow site-specific policies to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to observe for irregularities and report any security-related concerns.
• Document and report all access control activities, incidents, and observations according to Allied Universal and client site requirements.
• Support emergency response activities as directed, including assisting with evacuations and/or lockdowns when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
