Job Description

Our canine group, under Allied Universal® Enhanced Protection Services, is hiring a Manager, Administrative K9 Operations. The Manager, Administrative K9 Operations will assist in the implementation and enforcement of employee Standards of Performance and Conduct, as well as Post Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). The Manager, Administrative K9 Operations role includes responsibilities for managing daily operations, training, scheduling, budget oversight, and coordination with various departments to ensure efficient and effective delivery service. The Manager, Administrative K9 Operations will act as the primary liaison between field supervisors, management, and clients to maintain a high level of performance and professionalism.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementation and enforcement of employee Standards of Performance and Conduct, as well as Post Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Selection and placement of direct reports; design and implement career development as well as performance improvement plans
  • Ensure all Explosive Detection Canine (EDC) Handler teams are capable of executing their assigned missions effectively through ensuring all required training, licenses, certifications are maintained; ensure every client post is manned by a qualified EDC team
  • Supervise and support the EDC Handler field sustainment training program
  • Act as a liaison with field supervisors to ensure operational integrity and consistent communication
  • Coordinate the development, refinement, and publishing of the EDC Handler schedule with the Scheduling Manager
  • Manage work schedules for selected client sites as assigned
  • Monitor the actions of subordinates to ensure alert, courteous, and professional behavior towards clients, employees, visitors, and the public
  • Responsible for representing the company in all client interactions and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Conduct initial inquiries and investigations into allegations of employee misconduct or SOP violations
  • Complete administrative paperwork as required, maintaining accurate records, forms, and reports
  • Analyze and project manpower requirements for the NY Region, considering both weekly and seasonal needs (e.g., Cruise ships, MLB events) as well as historical events for long-range logistical planning
  • Coordinate with the Scheduling Supervisor to ensure timely completion and submission of new sales orders to scheduling for proper logistics and manpower allocation
  • Ensure quality control (QC) of all invoices related to scheduling prior to submission to clients
  • Liaise with the Finance Department to review and resolve invoicing issues related to scheduling errors
  • Coordinate with the Licensing Officer to ensure proper credentialing logistics are met and maintained, supporting all contracted sites and ensuring compliance with corporate and government licensing and clearance requirements
  • Assist with the preparation of reports and documents as needed, including those related to safety regulations and compliance (e.g., Safety Act)
  • Responsible for the recruitment: screen resumes, interviewing, recommend applicants for Human Resources prescreening

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, security license and/or other licensing and credentialing as required
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience with any civilian law enforcement or military branch
  • Minimum of five (5) years of previous experience in operations management
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Be able to interact professionally with all levels of employees and clients
  • Excellent time management skills; ability to balance multiple competing tasks in a time compressed environment while generating quality results
  • Ability to manage employee relations issues
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments accordingly to achieve business objectives
  • Capable of implementing performance management aspects for subordinate supervisors
  • Experience with implementing policies and procedures for a business unit

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, operations management or relevant field

Pay $85,000 to $100,000 per year
