Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Operations Specialist. The Security Operations Specialist serves represents the on-site point of contact for the Incident Reporting Center (IRC), the Client’s security operations center, who will report/escalate any incidents to the IRC and conduct follow-ups as directed. This role will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of the Client’s security protocols and fostering a culture of safety within their organization.
Full Time hours Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Weekly Pay Starting Rate $33.40 / hour with Paid Orientation
Applicant must have 1+ year Law Enforcement experience OR 2+ years Security Supervisor/Manager experience OR 3+ years Security experience
Ideal applicant has 3-5 years of experience and is comfortable using computer or tablet and has customer service experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Incident Management and Response
- Act as the on-site point of contact for the Incident Reporting Center, the Client’s security operations center, managing incident investigations and follow-ups
- Provide crucial support during major events and incidents specific to the Client’s office in Portland
- Assist with high-risk terminations occurring on-site, ensuring smooth and secure processes
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of comprehensive incident response plans for various scenarios
- Assist with post-incident analyses and detailed reports with recommendations for improvements
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
- Collect information and report critical information concerning on site incidents.
Event Security and Intelligence
- Support the Enhanced Personnel Protection team with local event security
- Conduct thorough news and social media scans for event-specific intelligence
- Contribute to event security planning and risk assessments
- Assist in data collection for daily intelligence reports
- Liaise with external security agencies and vendors for large-scale events
- Assist with real-time threat assessments during ongoing events
Physical Security and Technology
- Troubleshoot and maintain physical security technology equipment at the building
- Conduct regular security equipment testing in coordination with the Incident Reporting Centre
- Support the Physical Security Risk Assessment process
- Work with Corporate Real Estate partners to address security-related product issues
- Conduct regular audits of security equipment to ensure optimal functionality
On-Site Safety and Support
- Participate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) walkthroughs and investigations
- Assist with emergency response procedures and drills
- Provide escort services for employees and executives as needed
- Liaise with the landlord and their security team to ensure seamless security operations
- Help to maintain evacuation plans and procedures specific to the building
- Coordinate with Corporate Real Estate partners on safety-related building maintenance issues
Proactive Security Measures
- Maintain constant site awareness and familiarity to identify potential gaps or issues
- Conduct regular security audits and propose improvements, and assist with the development and implementation of preventive security measures
- Stay updated on latest security trends and best practices
- Participate in industry networking events to stay informed on emerging threats
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in corporate security or law enforcement
- Ability to communicate at an executive level, both written and orally, through superior communication skills
- Ability to make decisions, multi-task, and operate within high stress situations, often under time constraints
- Working knowledge of current global events and global geography/cultures
- Ability to analyze and think critically, sometimes under ambiguous circumstances
- Solid computer knowledge and skills, experience working with complex platforms
- Self-motivated, highly responsive and proactive, able to own tasks from start to finish
- Attention to detail with a strategic mindset, capable of anticipating potential security threats and implementing effective countermeasures
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
- Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Emergency Management, Business, Economics, Communications, Information Technology, Political Sciences, Engineering, Geography or related field
- Intelligence, corporate, military and/or security experience
- Secondary education in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field
- Professional certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional) or PSP (Physical Security Professional)
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and security auditing processes
