As a Security Officer - Access Control Patrol in West Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more .

As a member of the Allied Universal team in a dynamic tech, media, and telecom location, you will play a key role in access control, helping to deter unauthorized entry and supporting a secure environment for all personnel and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring badge access, responding to alarm panels, and conducting routine patrols throughout the assigned areas. You will be highly visible, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication to everyone you encounter. Job Schedule:

What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the location, verifying credentials and authorizations for entry.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to company and client protocols.
• Communicate with Allied Universal management and client representatives regarding security-related matters as needed.
• Assist visitors and employees with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional presence.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
