Job Description

As a GSOC Operator, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Commercial Real Estate, Healthcare, Education, Government and more. The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Operator, under guidance of GSOC Supervisor, is responsible for assisting company personnel in all concerns that pertain to safety and security for corporate locations around the globe. The individual will work in a GSOC environment, monitoring several screens. The Operator will use a variety of tools that range from access control and alarm monitoring systems to various business intelligence sources, open-source media, Internet, and in-house tools. The Operator is required to detect, analyze, and alert others of any incidents which may impact the client’s people, products, property, or brand image. These may range from extreme weather conditions, political instability, crime, terror, to technical failures.

RESUME REQUIRED FOR CONSIDERATION

The Technical Security Specialist must be able to operate various video systems/software, after training, at an expert level.  Working under the guidance of Client Corporate Security, the Technical Security Specialist will fulfill requests for video from authorized persons.  Fulfillment of requests includes interpreting requests, confirming authorization, operation of Windows operating systems, and various video software, documentation of approvals, and navigation of secure computer network resources.  Other responsibilities include support of Client Corporate Security in completing other tasks as assigned.  The Technical Security Specialist should be a Security Professional who has a passion for observation and analysis, problem-solving, and advising decision makers.  Must be able to maintain a positive attitude, and articulate their thoughts, both verbally and written, in a clear, concise, and respectable manner, during normal day-to-day operations, and times of increased stress.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Entry level position, heavily involved in monitoring and use of video surveillance and analyzing data for deliverables.
  • Monitor CCTVs, alarm system and monitor access control for the property.
  • Maintain daily logs of activities.
  • Communicate verbally and written in clear way during high-stress situations.
  • Must be able to produce suspicious/criminal activity and incident reporting products for delivery to higher level supervisors and client leadership.
  • Be able to observe and recognize patterns of activity and coordinate appropriate security monitoring and response.
  • Make every effort, through observations and documentation, to identify potential threats to the client’s corporate critical infrastructure: people, facilities, assets and brand/reputation.
  • Understand the operation of all communications and information technology hardware, software and firmware utilized to perform security monitoring functions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • Highly desirable experience in using CCTV and alarm monitoring/access control software in coordination with a communication or security operations center.
  • Experience with Genetec, Avycon and Digital Watchdog systems preferred.
  • Previous Military, Law Enforcement, Government or Private Security is preferred.

Ability to occasionally work 12-hour shifts on days, nights, weekends and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out safety and security procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem solving manner
  • Investigate alarms and respond by sending security patrol, or alerting Fire services or Police as needed
  • Assist company employees in all concerns that pertain to safety and security
  • Monitor travel safety and security of company’s employees

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Access Control/Badge Experience (B201) 
  • Alarm Panel Experience (B202) 
  • Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204) 
  • CPR Certification (B205) 
  • Customer Service Experience (B219) 
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or five (5) years of verifiable experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of military, law enforcement, government, or security experience
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    *A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
