Job Description

As a Security Professional - Armed Utility Patrol in Tampa, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities and more .

As an Armed Patrol Officer in a utilities environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure atmosphere. This role involves conducting routine patrols, remaining visible throughout the location, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. The position requires carrying a firearm and may involve driving responsibilities. You will be part of a team that values agility, reliability, and innovation, always putting people first and acting with integrity while supporting a secure environment for all individuals on site.

Pay Rate: $19.60 / Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the utility location and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activity through visible presence and thorough observation during patrols.
  • Document and report any unusual activity, incidents, or maintenance needs encountered during patrols.
  • Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as needed to address incidents or emergencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with AU Driver Policy requirements.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Florida Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
  • An armed guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 or older for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
