NOW HIRING INMATE TRANSPORT SECURITY OFFICERS – STATEWIDE - SCHEDULES DO FLEX (FLUCTUATE WITH THIS POST)

The world's leading private security organization, Allied Universal (AUS), has an immediate job opportunity for an Inmate Transportation Officer. The Inmate Transportation Officer is responsible for the safe and secure transportation of detainees from specified sites to designated points. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the transportation vehicles are in safe and correct working order. The Inmate Transportation Officer is to ensure that they are in complete control of the transport vehicles at all times and that vehicles are operated in a safe and legal manner.

 

The Inmate Transportation Officer will provide and manage inmate/detainee safety, security, and transport in accordance with policy, procedures, and applicable regulations and statutes and is responsible for inmate/detainee pickup from a sending agency, transporting and delivering inmate/detainee and inmate/detainee property to specified receiving agency. The Officer will prepare and complete necessary forms and reports legibly and accurately as well conduct regular vehicle and equipment inspections.

The Detention/Transportation Officer is responsible for the secure and safe transportation, guarding, and escorting of detainees from specified sites to designated points. Officers duties include, but are not limited to, armed transportation services, escorting detainees to and from transport vehicles, and monitoring detainees in custody in accordance with U.S. ICE Standards. Transportation services entail over the road transport services, courtroom guarding, security services, and other related transportation and guard duties. The Detention/Transportation Officer is responsible for ensuring that the transportation vehicles are in safe and correct working order.  The Detention/Transportation Officer is to ensure that they are in complete control of the transport vehicles at all times and that vehicles are operated in a safe and legal manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Those duties necessary to meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Inspect and prepare transportation vehicles for daily operation requirements; perform pre- and post-trip inspection of vehicles; fill out required paperwork to report any damage or defects
  2. Conduct pat-down searches of detainees; ensure that detainees are properly secured prior to leaving a facility and while in a vehicle; ensure that all paperwork is obtained and completely accurately and thoroughly when obtaining detainees at a facility and delivering them to their appropriate destinations
  3. Safe operation of vehicles; ensures that all safety and legal measures are followed at all time while transporting detainees, including but not limited, to all application federal, state, municipal and organizational laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
  4. Conduct Stationary/Remote Guarding while standing by at Federal Courthouses, Hospital, and/or other locations as directed

Allied Universal® is hiring a Custom Protection Officer (CPO) Flex Officer. The Custom Protection Officer Flex Officer will conduct armed and/or unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior). Additional duties include control access and egress; monitor CCTV and alarm systems; compose reports; deter criminal activity and misconduct. The Custom Protection Flex Officer will work at various assignments and may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
  • Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
  • Sound alarms or calls police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits
  • Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensures that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements
  • Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain written logs as required by the post
  • Aid customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Make emergency notifications as necessary pursuant to site Post Orders
  • Make productivity and cost reduction recommendations to management
  • Make recommendations for physical security surveys and post orders

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess one or more of the following
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) or verified work experience in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of service in any military branch
    • Associate’s degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement or criminal justice with current or prior active military service
  • Be at least 18 years of age, or higher if required by the state (21 years, if armed)
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
    *A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only
  • Be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
