Job Description

As a Security Officer - Front Desk in Newark, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries.

As a Front Desk professional at this location, you will be responsible for monitoring access, assisting residents and visitors, and providing exceptional customer service. Your presence at the front desk helps to deter security-related incidents and supports a welcoming environment. This is an unarmed post, requiring you to maintain a professional demeanor while responding to inquiries and managing entry protocols. Our team values agility, reliability, and innovation, and we prioritize teamwork and integrity in all interactions.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Assist with access control and visitor management at the front desk.
  • Monitor surveillance systems and report any unusual activity.
  • Communicate with building management and other staff as needed to address security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

  • New Jersey Security Professional License required.
  • Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security-related training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
