We are seeking a highly observant, disciplined, and customer-service-oriented Retail Security Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a visible deterrent to theft, enforce store policies, and help ensure a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and employees. This position requires individuals with a strong presence, exceptional situational awareness, and strict adherence to non-engagement protocols.

As a Retail Security Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting routine patrols, monitoring for suspicious activity, responding professionally to incidents, and working closely with store management. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in security, along with a background in law enforcement or military service. Professionalism, accountability, and a calm demeanor under pressure are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain a strong, visible security presence at the front entrance and high-risk areas
• Conduct timed foot patrols throughout the store, focusing on high-value and high-traffic zones
• Observe customer behavior for theft deterrence and policy violations
• Respond appropriately to disturbances, safety issues, and emergencies
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and report incidents factually and thoroughly
• Liaise with store management and local law enforcement as needed
• Ensure compliance with company protocols, store policies, and local regulations
• Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Follow non-engagement rules—no physical contact, chasing, or confrontations

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of professional security experience in retail, corporate, or law enforcement settings
• Former Law Enforcement or Military background is required
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications preferred
• Strong verbal communication, observation, and report-writing skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and conduct routine patrols
• Professional, courteous, and customer-focused demeanor
• Must be able to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening
