Job Description

As a Security Officer - Education Sector in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more .

As a Front Desk Officer in an educational setting, you will be the first point of contact, providing a welcoming presence and assisting with visitor registration. Your role involves managing access control and badge issuance, helping to deter unauthorized entry. You will utilize computer or tablet systems to maintain records and communicate with staff and visitors. Your customer service skills will be essential in creating a positive experience for all. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service by implementing security procedures and site-specific policies at the front desk.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Assist in emergency response activities as needed.
  • Help to deter unauthorized access and manage visitor entry at the location.
  • Maintain a professional presence and communicate clearly with staff and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Maryland Security Professional Guard Card required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience with access control or badge systems is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
